Two things I came across this weekend.

1. I went to Cheapo late Saturday night, and I saw Pegboy's Strong Reaction/3 Chord Monte in the used bin for $6. I bought it. It's cool.

2. I hate the Yankees. Man, I hate the Yankees. However, I think I might hate Tim McCarver even more. It's a toss-up.

The other day I read some paraphrased quote that went something like "great movies are manipulative, while lesser movies attempt to manipulate." With regards to Adaptations guess I was manipulated.

Anyhoo, for two months this summer I was pretty much out of touch with, you know, the world. So I missed the Bill O'Rielly/Al Franken sparring match. So I found the actual streaming file of the incident and watched it. Please, PLEASE, do yourself a favor and watch it (Franken starts about 20 to 25 minutes into it).

If you, too, were out of communication with the mainstream media in late May, both Bill O'Reilly and Al Franken were invited to appear as part of a panel on C-SPAN's Book TV (because they both had books coming out). Al Franken said some insanely hilarious stuff about a whole bunch of right wing pundits (the stuff about Ann Coulter had be laughing so hard and loud I figuratively died). When he got to Bill, who was sitting RIGHT NEXT TO HIM, he brought out this really embarrasing lie (of Bill's) and things became not funny very quickly. You really have to see it, so do it. I'm going to bed.
