I like Pig Lib "very much." I don't love it, but it's certainly much better than an average album. Currently, I find myself listening to (Do Not Feed the) Oyster, Dark Wave, and Venessa from Queens.

But my favorite song is "Dynamic Calories" on the 5 song EP. It's just a great song. (The first time I heard it I thought, man, that sounds like the Cure. But given the subject matter, I suppose that's what he was going for.) And I also like #3, whatever it is. I wouldn't say I love the EP more than the LP, but right now I'm listenening to it as much.

About those "more pressing topics on the table," these are scary times. Almost as scary as the Reagan years. For instance, did anyone here know there was a coup in Venezuela? Funny how our media doesn't report that stuff.

This is nice. Sheesh.

Jottings (copyright Sid Harman):

I have seen the Zwan video on MTV2 a couple of times, and if that song is representative, Matt is right, Zwan is very boring. Actually, it sounds just like Smashing Pumpkins. I'm not sure what, if anything, the Papa M and Chavez guys added to the mix.

The Iron & Wine CD is great. Props to Matt and Ethan.

For some reason Adam has not signed up for the NCAA pool. Odd.

Enough with this objectivity crap! You have to be the biggest sucker on the planet to believe that going into Iraq either justified or the right thing to do.

Illinois is the Big Ten's best hope, but you're right, Adam, the seeding procces sti-inks. Go Illini.

Has anyone heard of the shoe company "Dada"? I hadn't until I saw an article in Details (a worthless rag, by the way) explaining that they'll be introducing a "Formula 1" shoe for Latrell Sprewell (a race fan). Weid, huh?

Sorry. Check your yahoo account, MOFO.

I have only heard one of Crooked Fingers' songs on Radio K, but I liked it. I have also read a bunch of pretty positive reviews of his latest album. I also would like to say that I really liked the Sea & Cake show I went to last week. I don't know how you felt about it Adam, but it was one of the best concerts I've been to in some time. Although there was alot I didn't expect (especially the rockin' out guitars), I was really impressed with all of the members. John McEntire was awesome. Anyways, I would go in on another list too, but I don't really care which one we do.

Okay.

A few things:

1. Either favorite lyricists or favorite websites should be next, IMHO.
2. Has anyone heard Crooked Fingers, and if so, would they care to tell me what they think of it? LMK.
3. Adam and Nolan, check your hotmail accounts. LOL.
4. If anyone here besides Adam and Nolan is interested in joining a $5, internet-based, NCAA Tournament Pool, send me an email at howe0144@tc.umn.edu. IIRC.

JEOMK.
